Tuesday, November 4, 2008, Presidential Election Day

Are you able to get to the polls for Election Day? Are you concerned about the weather that day and will you be able to get to the polls?  Do you fill rushed about voting? Are you unsure about how to use the electronic voting machines? Are you planning to be away from home for an extended period of time? Were you called out of town for an emergency and not sure when you will get home and would still like to vote?

Then maybe ABSENTEE VOTING is the answer to all your questions.

Who can vote by Absentee Ballots? Anyone who is registered to vote and fills out an application can vote by Absentee Ballot.

Where do you get an application? Absentee ballots must be applied for in writing. You may  obtain an application at any S.C.O.P.E. Center or calling the Board of Election.

When can I vote by absentee ballot? For this election absentee voting begins September 30, 2008 until the day before elections. You may vote either by mail or by going into the Board of Elections. (If you are going to vote at the Board of Elections please do it early. There will be a line to wait in if you wait until the last week.)

Can I have the ballot sent to another address that my residential address? Yes, on the application there is a place asking where to mail the ballot.
